This is my blog. It is my opinion, if you disagree, too bad.

Welcome to 20

So this is now the blog of a former teenager. Maybe I'll even be able to update it more now that those pesky teenage years are out of the way. I am also 364 days to being an official adult, which is scary.

So today is John Kiss' Birthday. Let me tell you about him. In short, he rocks. He is a best friend that I wouldn't let anyone take away from me. Even though we aren't able to hang out as much as I'd like (we're both college students now), anytime we're together we just hop right into our zone. We are able to feed off each other, and create all sorts of humor. John is also random, which leads to all sorts of greatness. Sometimes, it is annoying, but who am I to even judge that? Last night we declared ourselfs "Los hermanos del sombrero." (The Brothers of the Sombrero).

I have known John since I was 2 years old. Ever since then, we've been causing all sorts of trouble and fun (sometimes those overlapped.) We've gone to summer camp together (just ask us about Sunshine Acres), we've gone on many retreats, concerts, and youth conferences. We even had the most awesome summer ever. "Horachinikie to the rescue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" was a saying that stemmed from that glorious few months. "Beware of Yellow Squirrels", and "the Ardilla is in the tree" are some of our sayings. Also, "Last time I saw you, you was black, you changed, you white now, like micheal jackson." "Geoff is running." These are just a few of our favorite things.

So, now that I am 20, that must mean that I had a birthday, and maybe even a party.

So, my birthday started a little early with RIT actually closing and not having class. That was awesome, of course it came with the penalty of everything icing over and power outages for people that live south of us. I spent that time doing some homework and practicing with my band, Acoustic Thundre. During that practice, we took 2 riffs that I had and turned them into full fledged songs. They are called "Darkness and Light" and "Prayer." We also finished a song that Ryan had been working on called "My Way (Your Way). Soon enough we'll have them recorded and available for download.

And then my birthday rolled around.

Here's a short list of the timing. All time is in 24 hour time. Ok, so I lied about the list was short. And that's just the ones that were actually on my birthday, there's some others that have occured.

I spent a good portion of the afternoon practicing guitar and just singing because my voice is finally coming back to me. (I've had a cold since thanksgiving.) Around 7:20 I got ready and joined with sushi and went off to meet everyone for going to the party.

Our first stop on the party was at gracies where we met up with some of the people that were coming to my party. After we load up the cars we head over to Don Pablos, which is a really good mexican restaurant.

We get there and they've got a table set up for us. I say hi to people as they come in. And then I meet someone new, Lori. Turns out Lori is someone that my friends met at the Boston Winter Conference. She came out to RIT to visit people, and it just happened to coincide with my birthday. She's pretty cool and fits right in, which may or may not be a compliment, depending on how you look at it.

Kathy shows up real late because she got lost and drove about 30 miles more than she should have.

James comes in after practice. Oh, in case you didn't know. He's playing for the Rochester Raiders.

John Kiss comes in afterwards with Ward, Nick, and his Girlfriend Rachel. Both John and I get sombreros for our birthday. Plenty of pictures are taken, but none have made it to facebook yet, once they do, I'll steal 'em and make an album on here for you guys to check out.

After we're done eating food (all 30 or so of us), some of us head back to Debbie, Jess, and Michelle's apartment where there is a surprise gift waiting for me. I'm a bit worried, because I know my friends. At first it seems like someone is about to ask me out that they've got hidden. I'm worried because I don't know if I could say no to someone who they had gotten to agree, so I was figuring maybe I could deal with a set up for a couple days and then break it off. However, that was not the case. Instead they made a cardboard girlfriend named Veronica. She's pretty sweet, but kinda sketchy. So the new girl Lori was the model for Veronica's body. Turn's out Lori spent a good portion of the night working on my gift with Matt, Joe, and Jess. I've got awesome friends, but they are kinda twisted.

And then my party desends into a massage party. If you're curious, I can tell you more. But here's a quote for you.
Kathy - "Yes, ooooh, yes!".

Thanks to everyone for your effort, without you this program would not be able to broadcast.

people celebrate my birthday.
